With the auction of the Drive For Life Hurley around the corner and the upcoming RTE documentary, the Drive For Life project is winding down.
Who would ever have imagined, back in September 2002 when the Drive For Life project was first conceived, that it would become the enormous success that it is today?
When the target of €250,000 was first suggested in 2002, it seemed ludicrously unreachable, with everyone involved having difficulty imagining where even half that sum would come from. But with the extraordinary support of so many, who gave their time so generously, the project soon took on a life of its own, sporting dozens of individually crafted fundraisers, each contributing to the project's overwhelming success. The fundraising total currently stands at a staggering €396,000.
Drive For Life wish to say a massive thank you to all who have helped out - many with their time and effort, others with their checkbooks - without whom the project would not have been possible.
