Up For Auction - Drive for Life Everest Hurley11th August 2004
During their trek to Everest Base Camp, the Drive For Life team had the good fortune to meet Pat Falvey and his team. On seeing the hurley, Everest summiter Gerard McDonnell immediately offered to take it with him, and made it the first hurley ever to strike a sliotar from the South Col of the world's highest mountain.

The hurley has been signed by Pat Falvey, the Irish Everest Expedition of 2003, President Mary McAleese and has been to New Zealand and back to be signed by the first Everest summiter Sir Edmund Hillary.

As the final fundraiser for Drive For Life, this unique hurley will be auctioned on E-Bay.com in the last week of September*. It is hoped that this will be enough to push the grand total to over €400,000 from the already incredible current total of €396,000.

* The bidding will end at midnight on Thursday 30 September.
